WHFA ANNOUNCES WORKERS' COMPENSATION REBATE

The Western Home Furnishings Association's (WHFA) California Workers' Compensation Program has once again been able to offer its members a group bonus dividend in addition to the store's individual dividend. Retail store members participating in the WHFA workers' compensation program will soon receive individual dividend and extra bonus dividend checks totaling $311,040.25. Of this, $173,844.15 was an extra group bonus because the Association's program ended the 1995 policy year with a very attractive loss ratio. The checks will be distributed to participating WHFA members by November 15, 1997. "The success is due to the increased participation of Western retail home furnishings stores, including floor covering stores in the group program," says Dave Lane, WHFA Executive Director. "The WHFA workers' compensation program produces a "win-win" program for home furnishings retailers in California. The larger the group premium, the larger the multiplier is for the bonus calculation. This arrangement allows both the Western Home Furnishings Association and the California State Compensation Insurance Fund to be more competitive resulting in lower Insurance costs for participating home furnishings retailers."
