A new Web site from Visual Applications, Inc. (VisApp) gives users unlimited possibilities for decking the halls, stringing Christmas lights, or fulfilling a New Year's resolution to finish their lingering home remodeling projects.
VisApp, a leading publisher of personal visualization technology, today launched cMyVision (www.cmyvision.com), a new, free interactive design Web site and Web-enabled software that allows users to experimentally make changes to any digital photograph of a home, room or yard to create a new look.
"cMyVision answers questions like, 'How will this tile match my kitchen?' or, 'Is that paint too bright for my bedroom?' by letting users see it for themselves," said Bobbie Dreis-Ayers, president of VisApp. "It's a fun way to picture all of the possibilities and avoid expensive mistakes."
The cMyVision Web site, which will initially focus on the home remodeling/furnishings arena but will ultimately expand to include apparel, includes a free Web-enabled software application available for downloading from the cMyVision Web site. Background images – which can be supplied from the cMyVision site, or brought to cMyVision from another Web location, or from a personal photo – create a decorating palette. Home decorators can then drag and drop different paints, doors, trim, plants, siding, flooring, etc., into their chosen image. A regularly-updated cMyVision catalog of over 6,000 products allows users to experiment with multiple combinations and looks.
The site is designed to be accessible to the average computer user, and is built with a friendly "remote control" interface. It incorporates sophisticated features such as automatic scaling (which fits products to match a room), animation (a feature that allows users to spin, angle and turn items) and the ability to paint or fill walls with wallpaper.
cMyVision to Eventually Include E-Commerce Applications Eventually, cMyVision will expand to include e-commerce features, including direct access to manufacturer information, so users can learn more about the products they use, and have the ability to make online purchases.
"cMyVision not only helps consumers visualize answers to their home design questions, it also expands their visual horizons," said Dreis-Ayers. "For example, a person contemplating building an addition to his or her home may become mentally locked-in to standard approaches, approaches that may not deliver the most personal satisfaction. cMyVision opens up a world of possibilities to the user, enabling that person to put together the components that will create a perfect solution."
Dreis-Ayers said users soon will be able to purchase items needed to fulfill their personal vision through the Web site's secure, interactive shopping component. "Once a user is satisfied that he or she has the right arrangement of products, turning that vision into reality will be as easy as the touch of a button," she said.
