Premier Bedding Group Names Owen Shoemaker Vice President, Business Development, Western U.S.

Premier Bedding Group (PBG), a mattress and bedding company and the exclusive North American licensee of Bassett-branded mattresses, has named Owen Shoemaker to the newly created position of Vice President, Business Development, Western U.S., it was announced today by Mike Ertel, President and General Manager, PBG. In this new role, Shoemaker is responsible for new business development and sales in the Western region for all of PBG's brands, including Bassett innerspring mattresses and Nature's Rest and Performax latex brands, all of which will offer superlative adjustable bed models. He also serves as brand manager for Performax. "We are thrilled to have Owen on board," said Ertel. "As a veteran of the industry, he brings years of expertise to our team and is very knowledgeable about our new Performax brand and the benefits of latex bedding and other premium sleep systems. We are confident that under his leadership, both our Western sales and the Performax brand will flourish." Shoemaker, who has worked in the bedding business for nearly 25 years, has an extensive background in sales, marketing and training. Prior to joining PBG, he spent two years as Director of Sales, Western U.S. for Latex International/Latex Foam Products. Previously, Shoemaker served as Vice President with Ortho Mattress, a California-based factory direct retailer. During his tenure he worked closely with the Kingsdown and Slumberland brand mattress lines as a licensed manufacturer and retailer for those lines. Throughout his career, Shoemaker has devoted a significant effort to learning as much as possible about sleep science and has worked with noted sleep expert Dr. William Dement of Stanford University at the School Of Sleep Medicine in Palo Alto, California. He has also garnered knowledge from the European market, working with France's Sapsa Bedding and Slumberland, PLC, England's most recognized brand.
