The new Affinity collection for 2001 caters to the traditionalist looking for a more formal look and feel, said Arthur Apissomian, Homecrest furniture designer. The lines on the cast aluminum armrests have detailing that cannot be achieved in anything but casting. A distinctive cast finial as well as the flare of the armrest in the French Regency tradition, provide a very sculptured yet comfortable collection, he said. Available in sling, padded sling and the patent pending estate option, the Affinity collection is constructed of a combination of extruded aluminum welded to cast aluminum for strength, style, and durability. The collection is complete with swivel rockers, dining chairs, loveseat gliders, in standard and high back styles, a swivel bar stool, an ottoman, and a chaise lounge. New Homecrest fabric options for 2001 include the new Same Fabric Front and Back Option and the new Outdoor Chenille fabrics. Homecrest is continually moving towards a more custom approach to providing exactly what customers wantûûuniquely finished goods. Fabric on the front and back of casual outdoor furniture is an enormous issue that most manufacturers cannot provide, explained Arthur Apissomian. Homecrest sling furniture has always been unique because each sling is double layered, like an envelope of fabric that hides the frame structure, which gives us the opportunity to place a finished piece of fabric on the back side of the sling for a very upscale look. He went on to explain that conventional manufacturers using a single membrane of fabric can’t achieve this highly finished look.
