Richard B. (Dick Waddell), a 30 year Industry Sales & Marketing Executive, died while receiving treatment for recent illness in Philadelphia, PA,. Thursday, October 30, 1997.
Waddell, a native of Chattanooga, TN, was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan University and received his doctorate of Juris Prudence Degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
He began his furniture career with Athens Furniture Company, Athens, TN in 1968 and became Executive Vice President. In 1985 he became joined D.M.I. of Louisville, KY as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. More recently, he had served in Executive Sales, Merchandising and Marketing Positions with J.T.B. and Barclay Furniture. In October, he was on medical leave of absence with the Simmons Upholstery Group.
During his long career, he served in Industry Associations, including the AFMA and other business and community associations.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen, son, Richard Waddell, Jr., and daughter, Lucy Waddell Moore, all of Chattanooga, TN.
