AMERICAN EXPRESS OFFERING DIRECT FURNITURE SALES

American Express recently sent out a mailing to it's "valued card members" which offered direct sales of fine furniture. Excerpts from the American Express mailer: "Please note, before our vendors can quote pricing or accept orders for fine furniture, they will require the following information: 1. The manufacturer's name; 2. The model number(s) of the piece(s) you are interested in (and in the case of upholstered furniture, the Pattern Number and Grade of the material you have selected to have the piece(s) covered with.... For a number of reasons, we recommend that you see the furniture in a privately owned furniture store, and not a department or "chain" store..."
