Winter Market '99 at the San Francisco Mart offers buyers many opportunities to network and socialize with industry peers and manufacturers at special events sponsored by the SFM. Friday, January 15.
To celebrate the first day at Winter Market '99, the Mart is hosting the Golden Gate Club Swing Night from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Mart I Lobby. Buyers and manufacturers will enjoy a festive atmosphere of live swing music, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a no-host bar. Saturday, January 16.
For a midday break, buyers can visit Afternoon Delights at the Accent Corner, an exhibition of new sources for home accents. Complimentary desserts and beverages will be served from 3 - 5 p.m. in Space 211, Mart 1.
Buyers also can find the latest accessories and lighting while enjoying complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine at the Fourth Floor Cocktail Reception. The reception will be held from 4:30 - 6 p.m. on the 4 th Floor Lobby of Mart 1. Sponsored by the SFM, fourth floor tenants, and the ART Group.
Held every Market, the WHFA/ NHFA- Northwest Cocktail Reception & Lifetime Gold Pass Awards will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the WHFA Resource Center, Mart 2, Suite 705. The awards recognize Western retailers who have distinguished themselves by their industry participation, the caliber of their retail store and their ongoing support of the SFM.
Also held Saturday will be the WithIt (Women in the Home Furnishings Industry) From 6 - 8 p.m, in the Mart Exchange, 9th Floor, Mart 1. Sunday, January 17
Buyers can reconvene with companions to review the day and prepare for the evening at the Golden Gate Club Lounge Night. Light snacks, live music and a no-host bar will be open from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Mart 1 Lobby. Tuesday, January 19
The Mart will be hosting a special Market speaker who will address the topic of "'Redesigning Your Personal Interior Building Optimism, Humor and Empowerment, "
Presented by Wallace Wilkins, Ph.D., this seminar will help attendees rid themselves of burdensome mental clutter and self-limiting thoughts that impede professional and personal growth. Participants will learn to proactively prevent stress by restructuring thoughts and projecting upbeat, optimistic scenarios into the future. As an additional service, the Mart is commencing an express evening cable car service for those going to dinner on Friday and Saturday. The cable car shuttle will run on two routes - one to Union Square and one to the Embarcadero restaurant district - during the evening taxi crunch. The service will run every 15-20 minutes from 4 -7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. and will depart from the Mart 1 Market Street entrance,
