Dan Flowers To Lead Exel Direct

Exel Direct, the big-ticket product fulfillment business unit of global supply chain management leader Exel, today announced that Dan Flowers has joined the company as president.
Flowers, who brings more than 27 years of transportation management
experience to Exel, will be responsible for the development and
implementation of structured processes and disciplines to expand the
company's world-class network system.
Supported by its network of 42 cross-dock operations throughout the United
States, Exel Direct provides nationwide home delivery services on behalf of
many of the country's largest retailers. In addition to in-home delivery,
Exel Direct offers services including merchandise preparation, unloading,
installation and demonstration of new products, as well as hauling away of
packing debris and old appliances and furniture. The company has made more
than 50 million deliveries throughout its history.
"Dan's network management experience in designing, developing and managing
transportation-related products ensures that Exel Direct will manage a
seamless operating network," said Dan Avramovich, president of Exel's
Network Services. "I am confident that with Dan's leadership and knowledge
in the supply chain industry, Exel Direct will continue to grow its service
offerings to provide even more value-added solutions to our customers."
Prior to joining Exel, Flowers served as vice president and general manager
at UPS Supply Chain Solutions - Transportation Services, rounding out a
career that spanned more than 27 years with the company.
Flowers earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from De Paul University in
1976. Currently, he serves as a member of both the Council of Logistics
Management and the Advisory Board for Georgia Tech's Logistics Masters
Program.
