STORIS and TravelersBank Come Together for On-Line Funding - Retailers can now offer instantaneous credit to their customers

STORIS Management Systems introduced the design of a new software interface with TravelersBank's credit software. This new product allows retailers to setup accounts. on the spot. for their customers with Travelers. This will increase the level of customer service offered by the retailer, as well as ultimately increase sales. TravelersBank- is a division of TravelersGroup. a consumer financial services company. When a customer desires credit, an application is filled out and sent directly to Travelers. Once received, reviewed, and approved. Travelers will immediately send back an account number and a credit limit. At this time the customer can make a purchase using this credit. Subsequently. when they return to the store to make additional purchases the credit limit is checked and an approval code is given to the retailer from Travelers, allowing the customer to make it. Beta testing is scheduled to begin in April at American Furniture in Denver. Colorado. with general release planned for June 1999. A similar interface is also in the works with Norwest Financial and Avco. STORIS Management Systems an IBM Business partner, provides computer turnkey solutions for furniture appliance, electronic, and music retailers. Over 250 retailers, including 20 TOP100 retailers. have installed the STORIS system in the past decade.
