CMI (Colonial Mills, Inc.), a leading manufacturer of a complete line of braided texture area rugs and accessories, announces that it is seeing an increase in sales of its more traditional styles, including twiligh ttm, jefferson tm, deerfield tm, and midnigh ttm. All of these popular collections rwill be on display at CMI’s showroom (Suites at Market Square, #G-1332) duing the upcoming High Point Market. This uptick in the popularity of traditionals is an added bonus for cmi, which over the past few years has pioneered the successful introduction of braided texture rugs in a host of contemporary, innovative styles, colors and shapes.
CMI attributes this growth in traditionals, which feature oval shapes and more conservative styles and colors, to the cocooning mode that many American consumers remain in due to the threat of terrorism. “In order to feel an extra sense of safety and comfort in their homes, more and more people have turned to traditional, patriotic decor,” said Donald M. Scarlata, President and CEO of cmi. “Our American-made braided texture rugs complement the warm and homey, back-to-basics decorating schemes -- such as casual country, easy living and the new urban colonial -- that have become especially popular during these uncertain times in which we live.”
The twilight tm collection features soft, gentle colors in a special space-dyed blend of 15 percent wool, 35 percent nylon and 50 percent polypropylene. Bands of solid color add bold accents to the jefferson tm collection, a slight variation to a traditional look and made of 100 percent polypropylene. The deerfield tm coveys a sophisticated image with its deep colors. It’s 100 percent polypropylene content makes its distinctive design especially easy to care for. Lastly, the midnighttm collection features the rich colors of the night meld in a space-dyed blend of 15 percent wool, 35 percent nylon and 50 percent polypropylene.
