GERS Retail Systems, a leading provider of business solutions for the retail industry, today announced that Floor and Décor Outlets of America, Inc., headquartered in Atlanta, GA, has implemented the GERS Electronic Retail Enterprise. The specialty flooring retailer has selected GERS' Customer1 for managing customer transactions at the point of service, Enterprise1 for core business transactions, and RetailAnalyst for measuring business performance. By implementing a complete, integrated system from GERS, Floor and Décor will now be able to access customer and sales information in real time, improve merchandising management, and leverage analytical tools for greater profitability.
“While there are retail products specifically designed for the flooring and carpet industry, we felt that that GERS was best suited to meet our needs for the long haul,” said Mike Froning, President and COO of Floor and Décor. “The flexibility, scalability, and ease of use of their solutions, plus the broad retail experience of their staff, are highly compatible with our goal to become the leader in our niche market.”
Floor and Décor has implemented the Customer1 point-of-service solution at the front end. This Java-based solution uses the latest technology to share customer and sales transaction management in real time across the organization for immediate access to critical information, and includes failsafe operations that ensure the continuity of sales activities in the event of unexpected disruptions. Furthermore, Customer1 uses the familiar point-and-click format, which increases ease of use at the point of sale to drive improved customer service.
Implementing Enterprise1 allows Floor and Décor to integrate all merchandising, distribution, and financial information into a centralized, real-time environment for tighter inventory control, immediate information retrieval, and more streamlined processing of core business transactions. Extensive reporting capabilities built into the application, including the ability to handle state sales tax reporting, will save time and lower operational expenses.
Additionally, Floor and Décor will implement RetailAnalyst to measure business performance from the perspectives of sales, vendor, inventory, and financials. By providing management with access to this critical data, Floor and Décor can gain an understanding of what drives their business, take advantage of sales opportunities, and minimize risk.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Floor and Décor in support of their aggressive growth plans,” said Phil Kenney, Vice President of Marketing for GERS Retail Systems. “Our intent is to help them become the leader in the hard surface flooring niche market.”
Having recently opened 80,000-square-foot stores in Jacksonville, FL and Dallas, TX, and with a Houston store scheduled to open this month, Floor and Décor continues to implement its aggressive expansion plans.
