Furniture Store Presents Martin Zellar Concert, Antiques Roadshow Appraisal And Car Show At Becker Summer Fest

Becker Furniture World announced today that singer and songwriter, Martin Zellar, Antiques RoadshowTM Jewelry Appraiser, Virginia Salem, and The Pantowners car club of St. Cloud will be featured offerings at Becker Summer Fest, a self-created free event for the community, June 16th through June 27th. What's wrong with just selling furniture? Nothing, unless you're Becker Furniture World, the state's largest single-store retailer and family-owned furniture showroom in Becker, Minnesota, and your goal is providing an experience beyond expectations for customers. "Our team created Becker Summer Fest with hopes that it will become an annual event for the community. We believe this celebration, along with promotional components, will provide an added value for shopping with us and another reason for our customers to make the short drive to Becker," says Jim Huseby, President of Becker Furniture World. Huseby adds, " Our objective is clear, we want to redefine a typical retail offering common with most furniture stores. And Becker Summer Fest isn't much of a stretch from other elements we've brought to the showroom, like the 100,000 square foot expansion last spring and our new restaurant, Cafe Pawz, completed in November 2003. We want our guests to feel the 'wow factor' when they step inside." Among the list of events occurring throughout Becker Summer Fest, key offerings may entice families to participate, all at no charge. On June 19th, from 11 A.M. to 4 P.M., PBS’s Antiques RoadshowTM jewelry appraiser, Virginia Salem, will be on-site appraising jewelry at Becker Furniture World. Also on June 19th, an antique car show will take place at Noon to 3 P.M., courtesy of the Pantowners Club of St. Cloud. An outdoor concert on June 25th will feature Martin Zellar and The Hardways at 6 P.M. with supporting artists of Kory and The Fireflies, Becky Schlegel and Jessie Smelter. While there is no charge to attend, donations of non-perishable food items are encouraged and will be accepted during the shows. All food donations raised for the outdoor concert will be given to the local Becker Food Shelf. “During Becker Summer Fest, we’ll also have a wide variety of fun events for children,” says Megan Harms, Events Coordinator for Becker Furniture World. “We’ll have face-painting, ice cream socials, coloring contests, a moonwalk, and a special appearance from our mascot ‘Benny The Bear’, to name a few fun things happening,” adds Harms.
