WHFA’s  60th Anniversary Market Party “ A Hip Swinging Good Time”

The high point of the 2004 San Francisco Summer Market was the high-energy Western Home Furnishings Association’s Summer Market Member Appreciation Party. Over 400 market attendees celebrated WHFA’s 60th Anniversary and enjoyed free food and spirits in the company of Swing Dancers, Glamorous Dames, Belly Dancers, a winged angel, Rosy the Riveter and roving entertainers. Held at the SF Market Concourse Mezzanine, “The Party” was decorated like a 1940s fighter wing cantina and was generously sponsored by Myriad Software. Party goers enjoyed complimentary Infurnitini’s and Concourse Cosmos while dancing to hip-tossing swing music and testing their hula hoop skills. “We are delighted that ‘The Party’ has become the most attended and anticipated social event at Market. It is a perfect networking opportunity for our members and our industry partners, but we also like to have fun and this party really is fun.” explains Sharron Bradley, WHFA Executive Director and expert hula hooper. The Party also was the venue for the San Francisco Mart’s Ellen Hall to award the SF Mart Gold Pass Award.  The Gold Pass is awarded every market to an exceptional Western retailer who is actively supportive of the San Francisco Market. The 2004 Summer Market Gold Pass Awardees were Wes and Paula Holt of Home Collections, Salem, OR. Preparations are underway to top this successful party at the January 2005 Furniture Market.
