W.S. Badcock Corporation announced the launch of their new web site, located at www.badcock.com. The new site is part of an overall strategic overhaul of their technology infrastructure and mission-critical systems.  This also marks the first time the company has fully integrated its Badcock &more concept into any national branding materials. The new site is much easier for visitors to navigate, making it easier for customers to find the merchandise and information available at Badcock stores.  It also has an “e-mail-a-designer” feature and shopping tools that visitors can use to find best sellers and specials.  “The new web site is important to us on many levels.  One, it reflects the look and feel of the Badcock &more concept that has had such a tremendous impact on our business.  And second, and most importantly, it will provide better service to our customers, which is our number one priority,” said Don Marks, Badcock president and CEO.  “We’re in the midst of an extremely exciting time at Badcock.  We’re building on the successes and growth of the past 100 years, but are in the process of building a modern, technological-savvy, visionary company.” The first phase of Badcock’s strategic technology plan resulted in the implementation of a  three-tier computing architecture which has significantly increased the capacity and throughput of its Data Center while reducing the number of servers needed to support its operations.   The second phase of the plan is designed to further integrate its mission-critical systems through a web-based enterprise architecture infrastructure (EAI), and streamline the supply chain while continuing to support the company’s expansion. “Our new web site is built on state-of-the-art IBM technology that will allow us to add even more exciting e-commerce features in future releases,” said Leo Hurtado, Badcock’s VP of IT and CIO.  “Overall, our strategic plan for upgrading Badcock’s technology is on track.  We are pleased with our accomplishments so far,” he added.
