SCFMA Sets 2004 Pre Market Dates

The Summer and Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association has set pre-market dates of July 14-17 for 2004 in Chicago. Although the pre-market is not sponsored by SCFMA, the association encourages members who would like to conduct a pre-market to do so July 14-17 at the Merchandise Mart. “Pre-market is still an unofficial event, but many of our members with permanent showrooms want to participate. Establishing set dates has helped provide some structure for the event,” explains Joseph P. Logan, executive director of the SCFMA. Next year’s International Casual Furniture and Accessories Market will be Sept. 18-22, a new Saturday-to-Wednesday schedule established to avoid the Jewish holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. The annual Apollo Awards banquet will be on Monday, Sept. 20, 2004. The International Casual Furniture and Accessories Market in Chicago is the only market endorsed by the SCFMA. The Summer and Casual Furniture Manufacturers Association is headquartered in High Point, N.C., and represents more than 80 leading U.S. manufacturers of summer and casual products.
