It’s time to celebrate a monumental 125 years in business! To wind up for the 2005 celebration, “Sligh 125 Years…a great beginning”, Sligh Furniture Co. is introducing three limited edition clocks – each in quantities of 1880 to mark the historic date of the company’s founding.
These special floor, wall and mantel clock designs, featuring numbered commemorative plaques, will be previewed to home furnishings and accessories buyers during the International Home Furnishings Market, October 14-20, at Sligh’s showroom, 310 N. Hamilton St., High Point, North Carolina USA.
Sligh’s special series of commemorative 125th anniversary clocks are available for retail purchase at fine furniture and clock stores in spring 2005. 125th anniversary floor clock Hand carved post cap and cornice details set the stage for Sligh’s stately 125th anniversary floor clock.
The five-piece, three-quarter diameter post columns and corners are canted at 45 degree angles for added dimension. A delicate inlay line highlights the post cap perimeters and the base panel’s decorative oval. Each clock is made of choice cherry solids and mahogany veneers, accented with a rich Windsor finish of traditional formal red-brown tones, fully filled in hand-rubbed mahogany highlights. Silkscreen black Roman numerals accent the porcelain white face. Fine veneers of vertical grain crotch mahogany handsomely outline the clock door. Beveled glass front and side door panels showcase polished brass weight shells and a classic lyre pendulum. A charming secret storage area is stowed inside the clock base under a removable false bottom panel.
Choose from two chime options:
1) a cable driven triple chime movement with Westminster, Whittington and St. Michael's chimes or
2) a 16-hammer clock movement playing Westminster, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, "Ode to Joy", and Schubert's "Ave Maria" melodies.
Both include automatic night time chime silencers. Clock model 125-1/2-WI is 83 1/2 inches high, 29 inches wide and 16 inches deep. Estimated retail price: $4,999-$5,099.
125th anniversary wall clock Inlay appears at the base of the three-quarter diameter front columns of Sligh’s 125th anniversary wall clock – an engaging start for a unique piece of wall art.
