American Leather Announces Executive Level Renaming

American Leather, a design leader and manufacturer of custom upholstered leather furniture, announced an organizational renaming of its executive-level titles to allow for expansion of the company's growing management team.  Bob Duncan will now be the company's chief executive officer. Sanjay Chandra is president and chief financial officer and Cary R. Benson is president and chief marketing officer.   Previously, Bob Duncan, who co-founded the Dallas-based company in 1990, served as president and Sanjay Chandra, who is also a co-founder, was vice president, finance and administration. Cary R. Benson, who joined American Leather as a partner in 1997, was vice president, sales and marketing.   "Our day-to-day responsibilities will remain the same. However, American Leather essentially has three active partners and as the company continues to grow and expand, it has become increasingly necessary that the titles of the three partners who are the top executives in the company better reflect the key roles that they serve within the organization," said Duncan. "This year, American Leather recently completed the construction of its expanded manufacturing facility in Dallas and has also expanded its showroom in High Point, N.C., to accommodate increased sales and product offerings. We needed to be able to better position our key executives within the company to match this growth. Now we can also accommodate the advancement of our mid-level managers into higher and more accountable positions to create the most effective management team and company overall."   Among its most recent growth and industry designations, American Leather was again recently included in the "Dallas 100", a list of the fastest growing companies in the region.
