New Furniture & Design Trade Fair Brings Industry Professionals to Jonkoping, Sweeden

A trade fair and business forum brimming with materials, components and ideas for the furniture, joinery and interior design industries. That's how arrangers describe the new trade fair now being launched at Elmia. Over a two-day period, furniture manufacturers, joiners and designers can meet with suppliers and business partners. Equally important is the chance to discover new materials and ideas for their future products. The fair is called Elmia Materials & Functions and its complete package concept is new in Sweden. The idea is that exhibiting should be easy. “We want to make things as easy as possible for exhibitors so they can focus on the customers,” explains Elmia's Torbjorn Johnsen. Exhibitors can choose between a number of predetermined stand sizes. Everything else required for an effective presentation is included - from constructing and furnishing the stand to invitation cards and lists of registered visitors to the fair. Industry shows are meeting places for colleagues and for networking purposes. That's why social arrangements form an important part of Elmia Materials & Functions. Innovative ideas are often more likely to be hatched during a coffee break than in meetings. The same is true in the business world, where meetings in pleasant circumstances offer creative oases in a world of increasingly tough competition. Elmia Materials & Functions will be held for the first time on 25-26 April 2006 and will recur every second year.
