Shopping for Antiques Roadshow Furniture and home accessories will be easier for consumers, thanks to a new gallery program spearheaded by Pulaski Furniture Corporation. In a cooperative effort with Dale Tiffany, Southern Furniture and Village Court, the Antiques Roadshow home furnishings licensees have joined together to offer furniture retailers a chance to provide consumers with the ultimate Antiques Roadshow shopping experience by showcasing the products in a lifestyle-type setting.
The program was introduced at the October 2004 International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, NC and will be available at retail starting in early spring. The gallery program will display casegoods from Pulaski, lighting from Dale Tiffany, upholstered furniture from Southern Furniture and wall décor from Village Court. Ken Kallet, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Dale Tiffany, joined Pulaski at Market to give retailers a first-hand look and get them excited about the program.
“Gallery programs on the whole are more effective,” says Kallet. “They are exciting because people are visually able to see how the pieces will look together in their homes.”
Jim Kelly, Executive Vice President of Product Development and Marketing for Pulaski, says it’s a great opportunity to promote the brand and he is excited to work with the other Antiques Roadshow licensees.
Those retailers who participate in the program will dedicate 800 square feet of exclusive retail space to the Antiques Roadshow brand. There are currently about 385 Pulaski Antiques Roadshow™ Collection furniture dealers around the country and this program will be offered to every one of them. So far, executives from the four licensees say retailer feedback on the gallery program has been positive.
Pulaski, Dale Tiffany, Southern Furniture and Village Court will support retailers who participate in the gallery program with marketing, advertising and promotional opportunities, including the opportunity to hold a special Antiques Roadshow launch event with an official Antiques Roadshow appraiser.
Retailers can also purchase official Antiques Roadshow books at a nominal cost to give out during the event. In addition, a co-op advertising program, priority shipping and volume discounts will all be available to participants of the gallery program.
“We started the retail launch events more than a year ago and they’ve been a huge success, “ says Kelly. “It is a great opportunity for the retailers. The guest appraisers have drawn crowds of more than 200 people at some stores.”
The Antiques Roadshow™ Collection by Pulaski Furniture Corporation is one of the leading licensed furniture lines in the industry today. Introduced in March 2003, the collection is inspired by antique discoveries appraised on the #1-rated primetime series on public television, the Emmy-nominated Antiques Roadshow. Since 2003, both the show and furniture line continue to be a success. This month at The High Point International Furnishings Market, Pulaski introduced its fourth collection to the line, the 70-piece Carlton Manor collection.
Pulaski Furniture Corporation is one of the top 20 furniture companies in the world. It is carried in retailers nationwide, including Macy’s, Sears Canada, Fortunoff, El Dorado Furniture, Dillards Department Stores, Nebraska Furniture Mart and Horchow.
