Jaipur Weaves Introduces Soumak (Kilim)) Rugs

Jaipur weaves the history of the Soumak rug—a comparatively rare type of Kilim—into its line with a collection bearing the same name. Soumaks are known for being more intricate than other flatweaves and this collection is no exception. The rugs are flatwoven of wool in a broad range of handmade patterns. Jaipur uses a muted palette to color the rugs, employing shades like green, red and rust along with natural tones.  The look easily pairs with contemporary, traditional and eclectic decors making it one that can be used in every area of the home. Jaipur offers its Soumak Collection in sizes of 6' x 9', 8' x 10' and 9' x 12' with a suggested retail of $995 for a 6' x 9'. The rugs, along with Jaipur’s entire line of hand-knotted qualities, will be on display at the Atlanta Gift and Rug Markets from January 11-23 at the company’s permanent showroom 3-C-15 in the Atlanta Merchandise Mart.
