World Market CenterSM announced the dates for its second Market: January 30 – February 3, 2006. These dates have been approved by World Market Center’s Advisory Board.
“As a burgeoning force in all segments of the home furnishings industry – and with our expanding objective to attract international exhibitors and attendees to our semi-annual events – we are pleased to offer our tenants and the industry-at-large our 2006 Winter Market so that they may begin planning for this significant event,” said Dave Palmer, World Market Center General Manager. “In scheduling this date, we listened to the needs of our exhibitors and buyers, and evaluated the domestic and international calendar to ensure we were complementing the existing schedule of industry events,” added Palmer. In addition to the main campus covering nearly 1.7 million square feet of permanent and temporary showrooms and exhibit space, World Market Center’s January 2006 show will also accommodate several hundred more temporary exhibitors at other venues in Las Vegas. It will also include an international pavilion which will feature shows such as Interior Lifestyle USASM, which is coproduced with Messe Frankfurt and includes the best of world-renowned European shows Heimtextil and Ambiente. Furthermore, World Market Center is in discussions with other global trade show organizers who have expressed a strong interest in participating in the January 2006 Las Vegas Market.
“In order to accommodate increasing demand from the industry we have procured all available large scale exhibition space in Las Vegas during our Market’s time period,” said Briana Mackey, World Market Center Director of Market Operations.
“Las Vegas Market will truly be a city-wide event next January.” Officials say the selected Market week dates in January 2006 is a “window of opportunity” during this otherwise busy convention period in Las Vegas that will
provide World Market Center with ample temporary exhibition space as well as a plethora of available, well priced hotel options for attendees.
The January 2006 dates coincide with Surfaces show in Las
Vegas, which Market officials point to as synergistic with
World Market Center. “We have a respectable line-up of
floor covering companies in our first building and intend
to grow this category over time. For rug buyers planning
to come to Las Vegas for one or both events, they will get
an even broader sampling of new resources,” said Palmer.
Currently under construction, World Market Center is an
integrated home and hospitality contract furnishings
showroom and exhibition complex serving the
United States and international markets. The first
building – a 10-story, state-ofthe- art complex already
fully-leased to 230 companies – will feature permanent
showrooms consisting of furniture, decorative accessories,
lighting, area rugs, home textiles, and related segments,
as well as a Design Center open year-round to the
trade.
In conjunction with the tenants at the main campus, nearly
400 more exhibitors are expected to participate in World
Market Center’s inaugural Market week this July
at two official temporary venues: World Pavilions on-site
and World Marketplace at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Interior Lifestyle USA will make its United States debut
at Las Vegas Convention Center in conjunction with the
first Las Vegas Market.
The first Las Vegas Market will be held July 25-29, 2005.
Industry buyers can now pre-register to attend and book
hotel rooms on-line, with room rates as low as $52 per
