David Francis Furniture, a manufacturer of hand-crafted high quality traditional furniture, will unveil a new line of desks at the spring 2005 International Home Furnishings Market, held April 14 through 20. The signature collection, which will be available for viewing at David Francis' High Point showroom, spans a wide range of design influences.
Roll-Top Desk, Style #B1940 Traditional goes tropical in this classic roll-top style accented with drawer facings of intricate, Z-patterned closed cane. The period piece includes six permanent drawers, a removable three-drawer/three-cubby hole section, and a pullout writing shelf. Constructed of mahogany, the desk features dovetail joints and wooden drawer glides.
Three-Drawer Crushed Bamboo Writing Desk, Style #B1960 This generously sized piece uses minimalist lines to create a distinctive contemporary feel. The wood and crushed bamboo top is supported by a rattan frame with fine micro cane panels. Three drawers with wooden glides and a pullout writing shelf provide storage and additional work space. Available in 10 standard finishes.
Shanghai Six-Drawer Writing Desk, Style #B1970 The Shanghai evokes strong Asian and Pacific Rim influences, yet its clean lines complement an array of decors. This meticulous reproduction of a fine Chinese antique is constructed with cherry veneer and is available in 10 standard finishes.
Two-Drawer Writing Desk, Style #B1980 This richly textured piece features an expansive tooled leather work surface on mahogany; its mahogany legs are carved to resemble bamboo. The drawers and desk facings are detailed with caned panels.
One-Drawer Crushed Bamboo Desk, Style #B1910 As beautiful as it is functional, this compact writing desk is a versatile accent piece. It is constructed of crushed bamboo with leather wrapped joints, and is available in 10 standard finishes.
