Tropitone Furniture Co., a leading manufacturer of fine casual furniture, announced several new products introduced at the September Casual Market in Chicago. Both outdoor seating as well as a new line of pedestal tables in the Stoneworks Collection were unveiled. In addition, Tropitone has expanded its offerings of powder-coated frame finish choices. According to Peter Homestead, Tropitone’s vice president of design, the styling embodied in the new seating collections ranges from the classical and formal flourishes of the elegant Lisbon Collection to the clean and contemporary look of the Opus Collection. “For example, the Lisbon Collection features a traditional and graceful design similar to that of the garden seating found in some of the world’s most famous public gardens,” Homestead said. Both collections are available in a wide range of multi-color powder coated finishes which are designed to complement the primary and accent colors found in the interior and exteriors of today’s homes. The 2004 offering includes six new frame finishes: Greco – a speckled bronze; Woodland Green – a multi-colored forest green; Rosewood – a dark, rich Cordovan tone; Sonora – a soft, sandy brown with cream speckles; Moab – with tan and black speckles; and Obsidian – a rich black tone. This breadth of finish-to-fabric selection, along with a proven track record of timely and complete delivery of special orders from two factories – one on each coast, sets Tropitone apart from its competitors. Another important distinction is that Tropitone manufactures all of its own casual furniture products -- from deep cushioned lounge seating to umbrellas and garden pavilions, to solid-surface designer table tops that have the look of natural stone. This not only allows the company to control quality and manage ‘time-to-market,’ but also ensures all of its products will coordinate one with another. The result is a totally complementary and aesthetically pleasing look that can be tailored to each customer’s personal preferences. According to Homestead, the new product for 2004 in the Stoneworks Collection is the Corinthian Pedestal Table. “To date, Tropitone table frames have been constructed using extruded or cast aluminum. In contrast, the Corinthian Pedestal Table is manufactured using the same proven technology as the Stoneworks table tops – a high-density urethane product engineered to weather the elements season after season. The dramatic, formal design of the Corinthian Pedestal Table, married with the unique shape of the Corinthian table tops, will add a distinctive and gracious elegance to any outdoor dining setting,” he said. Founded in 1954, Tropitone is based in Irvine, California, and is recognized throughout the casual furniture marketplace for its design leadership as well as its commitment to service and value. The company sells its products to retailers, designers and the hospitality trade under the Tropitone, Veneman and Basta Sole trademarks. In additional to its headquarters and manufacturing plant in Irvine, the company operates a manufacturing facility in Sarasota, Florida.
