Created in 1990 by France’s Pays de la Loire (Loire Valley) timber trade professionals, and now Europe's leading venue for timber materials, the International Timber Trade Show (Carrefour International du Bois) has gained the reputation of being the only international trade show solely devoted to timber. This position of strength means that it attracts the most significant European exhibitors in the business of primary and secondary timber processing as well as those involved in timber trading. Since the outset, trade interest in this biennial event has resulted in an increase in exhibition space with each edition. And this eighth Carrefour International du Bois is no exception to the rule of success. Faced with the considerable demand for space by new exhibitors, the decision was recently made to open another exhibition hall. The overall exhibition area will increase from 135,000 sq. ft. to nearly 162,000 sq. ft., and will extend over the "Grand Palais" and Halls 1, 2 and 3 of the Beaujoire Exhibition Center (Parc des Expositions de la Beaujoire), in the city of Nantes in western France, June 2-4, 2004. This year, as a true showcase for all facets of the timber trade and as a source of both technical and economic information, the Carrefour International du Bois will again be host to all the major manufacturers and traders of note in the European market. 85% of past exhibitors are returning for the 2004 show
