R.C. Willey Home Furnishings Signs Lease for Roseville Distribution Center

R.C. Willey and the City of Roseville announced that R.C. Willey Home Furnishings has signed a lease to occupy 495,185 square feet at 10000 Allantown Drive in Roseville, California. The project brings 150 jobs to Roseville. Terms of the lease were not disclosed. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, R.C. Willey Home Furnishings selected Roseville as the geographically ideal location to support R.C. Willey's stores in northern Nevada, the Sacramento region and California's Central Valley. R.C. Willey has a retail store in Reno, Nevada, a store under construction in neighboring Rocklin, CA and future establishments planned in the Central Valley. "I am thrilled that R.C. Willey's chosen Roseville as the place to grow," Mayor Gina Garbolino said. "The City's exemplary workforce, our location and freeway access as well as our dynamic retail market make Roseville the ideal location to support a successful and growing venture. R.C. Willey will find utility rates second to none in the region for their distribution center operations and our quality of life makes this an amazing place for their employees to live, work and play." Founded by Rufus Call Willey in 1932, R.C. Willey is recognized nationally for excellence in the retail and home furnishings industry. R.C. Willey sells furniture, appliances, electronics, flooring and sleep products. R.C. Willey is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, owned by the investment giant Warren Buffett. The premier home furnishings company has 2,400 employees with distribution centers and stores in Utah, Nevada and Idaho. Scott Hymas CEO for R.C. Willey commented, "We are excited to enter the California market and provide a unique retail experience for those shopping for furniture, appliances, electronics or flooring. Roseville will be an ideal location to service our stores in Rocklin and Reno and future stores in the greater Sacramento area." Occupancy of the building is scheduled for February 2006. The property is a portion of the former 770,000 square foot Hewlett Packard manufacturing and distribution facility that HP vacated when the merger with Compaq occurred. The landlord is Amir Development of Beverly Hills. Todd Sanfilippo and Walter Smyth of CB Richard Ellis represented the landlord and Jon Schultz of CB Richard Ellis represented the tenant.
