The award-winning, musical heart-and-soul of New Orleans, the Neville Brothers, will perform at the 2005 High Point Home Furnishings Market on Saturday, Oct. 22, in an extraordinary concert event to celebrate this year’s market, the International Home Furnishing Market Authority (IHFMA) announced.
The concert will take place in the parking lot between Showplace and the International Home Furnishings Center (IHFC), in downtown High Point at 7:00p.m. as part of a “Block Party” setting for market attendees. A High Point market badge will be required for admission, which is limited to “first-come, first-served” access.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Neville Brothers as they bring their energy, spirit and sound to High Point this fall,” said Judy Mendenhall, IFMA president. “This event is an important element of our program to enhance the visitor experience in High Point and add more entertainment and fun to the attendees’ agendas.”
Mendenhall added, “The Neville Brothers have become one of the nation’s top ambassadors for the relief and recovery of the Gulf Coast in the aftermath of the recent hurricanes and we’re pleased to welcome and salute them with our Southern hospitality.”
“On behalf of the IHFMA, I would like to thank Merchandise Mart Properties, Showplace, the IHFC, Centers of High Point, Furniture Today, InFurniture, Hamilton Wrenn District, the City of High Point and 220 Elm for their efforts and support in bringing this event to reality. They’ve shown great leadership, unity and vision as we continue to grow, evolve and improve the world’s largest home furnishings market here at High Point.”
