CDS Solutions Group, an innovator in business and software solutions for the home furnishings industry, announced that Kornmeyer’s, Baton Rouge’s premier furniture retailer, has chosen Retail 6 to be their go-to solution for retail technology. Kornmeyer’s, in operation since 1880, is a historic landmark in the Baton Rouge community and represents a time-honored tradition of dependable service. Kornmeyer’s offers a 60,000 square foot showroom, as well as a 37,000 square foot distribution center and warehouse. With over 12 decades of success and a 30,000 square foot store expansion project underway, it was time for management to prepare for the coming decade. Retail 6 easily fits the current requirements, and positions them for planned growth over the next 10 years. “Kornmeyer’s has a long, rich history of serving customers and we look forward to playing a key role in their current expansion,” reports CDS President and CEO Ren Baker. “Our solution’s technology base and pricing model enables us to synchronize with their business cycles, reducing their overall cost of technology now and scaling with them over the next decade of growth.” Retail 6 is a Retail Management System designed exclusively for the home furnishings industry. Built to run on Microsoft® Windows Server®, Windows XP ® and Windows CE®, and deployed exclusively on hardware from Dell®, Cisco®, Symbol ® and Nextel®. CDS will provide Kornmeyer’s with complete implementation and deployment services, including Data Conversion, Hardware, Software, Education, Mentoring, and 24X7 Support. In development nearly five years, the Retail 6 system provides an easy-to-use, cost-effective retail management solution. Its leading-edge technology allows a retailer to control all areas of the home furnishings retail environment. “Often times, in our industry, new products are created by updating existing solutions. However, there are inherent problems with building on old technology indefinitely,” states Baker. “That’s why we started with a clean sheet of paper.” Baker explains that before developing the new system, the company conducted significant industry research, and questioned the customers it has served for nearly 25 years. “Reality for retailers in the US market is shifting. Tomorrow’s consumer is an impatient one, focusing on speed, selection and price as their primary decision-making criteria,” states Baker. “We designed each function of the Retail 6 system to map back to these criteria and continue to build on our product, constantly evaluating how each feature enhances the retailer’s power to control these three areas.”
