Sealy, a leading bedding manufacturer announced the relaunch of its flagship Sealy Posturepedic brand. The newly launched Sealy Posturepedic collection features a series of consumer-inspired designs, advancements in pressure point materials and technology, and in-store tools to greatly enhance the consumer shopping experience.
According to the company, the new Sealy Posturepedic is the most advanced Posturepedic ever.
-Sealy Posturepedic (innerspring) features the proprietary Comfort Support System (CSS) to provide restful and supportive sleep. The CSS builds on the successful UniCased platform and offers additional features and benefits.
-Sealy Body Series (luxury innerspring) is a collection of specially designed mattresses with superior support and comfort for targeted areas of the body, such as the shoulders and lumbar. The Body Series features the Alignment Zone, which provides an enhanced level of support and comfort that’s “right for your back, right for your body.”
“We’re relentless in researching the latest advances in sleep technology to improve and refine our mattresses, which is why Sealy has more patents on mattress and box spring technologies than any other manufacturer. This launch of the new Sealy Posturepedic is a significant step forward for us because we didn’t stop at producing a great line of proprietary products at great value. We completely redesigned the way we operate—from research, design and manufacturing to the way we engage our retail customers and consumers in the Sealy Posturepedic experience,” said Philip Dobbs, senior vice president, Marketing.
Advancements in Pressure Point Materials:
The advanced technology and materials in the new line reduce pressure points—providing relief from tossing and turning. Inner-tufting within the mattress, available in most models, stabilizes the comfort layers to provide a denser feel and long-lasting quality and durability. The entire Sealy Posturepedic line is protected by Sealy’s proprietary FlameGuard® technology and is compliant with flame resistant (FR) product standards in advance of the anticipated 2007 federal mandate.
Redesigning the consumer shopping experience:
“The extensive consumer research we’ve conducted helped us align product design with specific consumer needs. What we learned is that consumers want better tools to select the right product for their particular needs and alternatives to help them sleep soundly,” said Tracey Denton, core team leader, Sealy Posturepedic.
“Our consumer research has helped us create an engaging experience for consumers and ensure the Sealy Posturepedic brand is relevant and motivating,” added Ms. Denton.
At the Las Vegas furniture market, Sealy will unveil its new technology which has the potential to revolutionize the way that consumers shop for and select a mattress. The new technology, called Sealy Touch, is a consumer-oriented “touch screen” designed to simplify and enhance the consumer in-store experience. No date has been set for an official roll-out at retail; a limited Beta test is planned for the spring.
The new Posturepedic line is expected to retail at $499 to $2,999 for queen sets.
Launch of 8-Series TrueForm Memory Foam Mattress
In addition, Sealy announced the launch of its 8-Series TrueFormÔ memory foam mattress. The new product is designed to appeal to the growing market segment who want memory foam’s individualized comfort and support at a competitive a price. The TrueForm line also includes the 11-Series and 9-Series memory foam mattresses, which were successfully introduced in 2005.
“The 8-Series TrueForm was developed in response to consumer demand. Across the TrueForm line we offer differentiated comfort choices at price points that appeal to consumers. TrueForm provides the latest in memory foam technology with the quality assurance of the Sealy Posturepedic name,” said Philip Dobbs, senior vice president, Marketing.
TrueForm’s advanced materials conform to every curve, gently cradling the full length of the body in individualized comfort and support. TrueForm responds to temperature and weight, reshaping itself to the body’s sleep position, and offers relief from tossing and turning and sleep interruptions caused by a partner’s movements.
In addition, Sealy TrueForm mattresses can be merchandised with TrueForm Contour and TrueForm Comfort memory foam pillows from Pacific Coast Feather, Sealy’s top-of-bed licensee.
The new 8-Series TrueForm is expected to retail at $1,299 for queen sets.
