The U.S. Department of Commerce has granted Trade Fair Certification to CMP Sinoexpo International Exhibition Company to organize an official U.S. Pavilion at Furniture China 2006/ZOW to provide U.S. firms with prime exhibition space. Further information can be found on the show Websites, www.cmpsinoexpo.com/furniture and www.e-furniture.net.cn
Furniture China 2006/ZOW, to be held at the Shanghai New Exhibition Center, China, September 11-14, 2006, offers U.S. firms outstanding potential for export sales. The product theme of this annual event, the 2006 edition of which will be the 12th, includes home furniture, office furniture, furnishings, fabrics and lighting, kitchen cabinets, and furniture manufacturing and supply. The show is Asia’s largest international trade show for the furniture industry. The ZOW section of the fair focuses on furniture manufacturing technology, furniture supply and raw materials.
2005 Results: The event encompassed 220,000 sq m of exhibit space in 2005, featured over 1,400 exhibitors (including 170 foreign), and attracted more than 60,000 visitors (including 8,000 foreign from 132 countries, mainly Japan, the U.S. Australia, the UK, Korea, and Russia, in that order). Attendees included furniture manufacturers, retailers and distributors, interior designers, architects, importers, and representatives of furniture stores, government procurement agencies, hospitals, libraries and hotels.
Furniture China 2006/ZOW has the support of the DOC’s staff in both the United States and Shanghai. By supporting this event, the DOC recognizes the capability and exhibition experience of the organizer of the U.S. Pavilion, CMP Sinoexpo International Exhibition Company, and the potential of this market for U.S. industry exports. CMP Sinoexpo was established in 1992 and currently organizes 27 large events every year in China, while the U.S. agent, Phyllis Rosenthal of Globexpo, has over 25 years of international trade show experience.
Companies participating in the U.S. Pavilion are provided with an excellent venue to establish or expand overseas distribution, generate sales leads, identify licensing and joint venture partners, find new customers, meet with existing clients, introduce new products, assess the needs of the Chinese market, and evaluate competitors. U.S. exhibitors will receive on-site support from the U.S. Commercial Service staff in Shanghai.
The DOC’s Trade Fair Certification (TFC) Program is a cooperative arrangement between private sector show organizers and the U.S. government. The TFC Program seeks to broaden the base of U.S. exporters, particularly new-to-export and new-to-market companies, by introducing them to key trade fairs where they can meet their export objectives.
