FURNITURE EXPRESS opened a new store in Flint Township, Michigan, at 5038-H Miller Road on July 15, 2002. The 36,000-sqaure-foot anchor site is located in the Linden and Miller roads corridor, across from Marshall Fields in Genesee Valley Mall. This is the 10th location for the home furnishings chain. We have been wanting to expand into the Flint area for two years,2 said Bob Berman, president of Furniture Express. 3Furniture stores have become a destination shopping experience with customers typically going to five furniture stores before deciding what to buy. We want to be on that short list, right in the path of our major competitors. Previously occupied by Sears Homelife, the new FURNITURE EXPRESS location has been recently redesigned. The one-floor showroom features a full line of furniture, mattresses and accessories, as well as a clearance center for discontinued and canceled special orders. FURNITURE EXPRESS will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Romulus, Michigan, FURNITURE EXPRESS operates 10 retail stores in Michigan.
