Bob's Discount Furniture Promotes Michael Alpert

Bob's Discount Furniture, the fast-growing New England furniture retailer with 22 stores located throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Jersey and New Hampshire, announced the promotion of Michael Alpert to regional manager for all Connecticut and Rhode Island stores.
Most recently, the store manager for the Bob's Discount Furniture store in Nashua, NH, Alpert will be responsible for the overall operations and training of personnel in all Connecticut locations and future Rhode Island stores. He will be leading the management staff in developing ongoing sales training programs and work with other regional managers to enhance programs and policies that will enable Bob's Discount Furniture to continue to be one of the top furniture retailers in the United States.
"Since joining the Bob's team way back in 1996 as a salesperson, I have been part of a great corporate team that has challenged me professionally and helped me along the way to earn the position that I have been promoted to today. I'm looking forward to working with the other regional managers and coordinating the opening of the Bob's Discount Furniture Rhode Island store in the fall 2006," said Michael Alpert, regional manager, Bob's Discount Furniture.
Early on Alpert grew up working in his family's business, Alpert's Furniture, Seekonk, MA. Later, he joined WaterBed Quarters, a division of Reliable Stores, Inc., Columbia, MD and then returned to Alpert's Furniture as an assistant buyer. Alpert joined Bob's Discount Furniture in 1996 as a sales assistant at the Orange, CT store, moved to the Brookfield, CT location as a manager and for the 4 past years has been the store manager at the Nashua, NH location. Alpert is a graduate of Syracuse University and attended the National Home Furnishings Association's Management Development Institute.
