August Will Be Record-Setting Month For Regional Furniture And Accessory Trade Show Producer

With its two largest regional furniture and accessories markets nearing sellouts, Karel Exposition Management is expecting a record-setting month in August. "We expect our exhibitors to capitalize on one of the hottest furniture markets in recent history and ring up many millions of dollars in sales," said Larry Karel, president of Karel Exposition Management, the nation's leading producer of regional furniture and accessory trade shows. On August 4-5-6, 2002, Karel is producing the summer Mid-Atlantic Furniture and Accessory Market at the New Jersey Convention Center in Edison, NJ, followed by the Orlando Furniture and Accessory Market, on August 23-24-25, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. More than 2,500 exhibit spaces have already been sold for the two markets, which are the largest shows of their kind in the U.S., according to Karel. "Because our regional furniture and accessory markets are located close to home, they attract thousands of furniture buyers and store owners who can drive to the show to see the latest offerings and newest trends in the marketplace." As regular exhibitor Marie Kabadayan, Hi-Tech Metal Furniture Manufacturing, says, "KEM shows allow us to stay in touch with our customers and show our new line to new customers. Karel is one of the strongest regional markets for us." More than 7,000 buyers are expected at the two Karel markets, which will include exhibits from nearly 700 U.S. and international manufacturers. "Our shows provide a true service to the industry, as well as benefiting local communities, by bringing buyers and sellers together in convenient, easily accessible locations," Karel added. Karel Exposition Management celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2001 with a string of successful shows, and a significant increase in attendance. Following the two August shows, Karel will be producing the New England Furniture and Accessory Market at the Royal Plaza Trade Center, Fitchburg, MA, on September 22-23-24, 2002; the Holiday Furniture and Accessory Market on November 10-11-12, 2002, in Edison, NJ, and the Long Beach Furniture & Accessory Market in Long Beach, CA on November 24-25-26, 2002. In March, Karel Exposition Management announced the addition of a Tampa show to the company's annual line up of regional furniture trade shows. The Tampa Furniture and Accessory Market will be held on March 1-2-3, 2003 at the Tampa Convention Center in downtown Tampa. Last month, KEM announced plans to move its annual trade show in New England from Worcester, Mass. to Fitchburg, Mass. to provide easier accessibility to buyers from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
