Bernie & Phyl's Furniture Breaks Ground For Construction Of New Three Story, 86,000 Foot Superstore.

Bernie & Phyl's Furniture breaks ground for construction of its new three-story, 86,000 square foot superstore on the Daniel Webster Highway. Phase one of the project includes demolition of half of the current 41,000 s/f building (Bernie & Phyl's will remain open during the construction process in the existing 20,000 s/f of space) and construction of 40,000 s/f of new retail space on three floors. Phase one is scheduled to be completed by late fall 2002. Phase two of the project includes demolition of the remaining 20,000 s/f structure and construction of the additional 46,000 s/f of retail space by summer 2003. When completed, the Nashua store will be the largest in the retailer's chain.
