The Handmade® division of the Seattle Gift Show® has accepted 24 new companies—including six international exhibitors for the August 17-21, 2002 market, bringing the total number of Handmade® participants to 90. This division will occupy approximately 100 booths on the 4th Floor of the Washington State Convention & Trade Center’s beautiful north hall expansion area. (A list of new companies and their product is attached.) Throughout more than 6,500 net square feet, Handmade will offer collections of contemporary, ethnic and traditional crafted merchandise. Many product categories will be represented, including functional and decorative home accents, glassware, textiles, furniture, stationery and jewelry. "We are pleased with the range of products that will be found in the Handmade® division for the August market. This division is broadening its reach to incorporate several international artisans," said Paula Bertolotti, divisional manager. "The Seattle Gift Show® continues to offer retailers in the Northwest so many opportunities to add this profitable category to their inventory—increasing their advantage toward success," continued Bertolotti. To ensure that each exhibitor brings a new dimension to the marketplace, the Handmade® selection process remains highly competitive. After a review of applications, photos, slides, catalogs, company backgrounds and additional support materials, exhibitors are selected on the basis of originality, authenticity and appropriateness for the gift market, with an emphasis on how the product is made. The Seattle Gift Show® will include over 900 exhibiting companies, encompassing 150,000 net square feet of exhibit space housed under one roof at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center. Throughout the 12 product divisions—At Home; FoodFocus; GardenStyle; General Gift; Handmade®; The Jewelry Vaultsm; Northwest Craft Gallery; Northwest Directions; Personal Style; Stationery & Trend; Village Arts; and The Vintage Collection—this market will feature a variety of giftware, decorative accessories, personal and fashion accessories, home décor, one-of-a-kind handmade merchandise, antiques and collectibles, tableware and fine jewelry. Nearly 15,000 buyers are expected to attend the show, which runs in cooperation with the permanent showrooms of the Seattle Gift Center (located at 6100 4th Avenue South). The next edition of The Seattle Gift Show® will run August 17-21, 2002.
