International exhibitors from around the world will once again showcase their products during the upcoming Las Vegas Market, taking place January 29 – February 2 at World Market Center and beginning on January 30 at Cashman Center. In an effort to bring international companies with a wide selection of products from around the world to Las Vegas, World Market Center officials have focused on creating strategic alliances with trade fair organizers and associations from around the globe. “Cashman Center at Las Vegas Market is a venue not to be missed – truly international flavors from a wide selection of exciting new exhibitors proving once more that Las Vegas has something very special to offer,” said Tim Branscome, Director of International Business Development for World Market Center. “This fair is poised to become a leading international home furnishings market as evidenced by the growing number of exhibiting companies from overseas.” Cashman Center will host many of the exciting new exhibitors showcasing some of the hottest new international trends from Italy, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, and Japan. From Italy there’s Eleganzasofa whose collections of contemporary, modern and traditional upholstery products tempt the eye with bursts of colour and a mix of hide and soft and there’s Rattanwood which offers a product range cleverly mixing rattan elements and wood. Latin America takes Las Vegas by storm with exhibits from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Ecuador. International Development Director Tim Branscome comments: “Las Vegas has soon made a name for itself in the international arena, we’re the top choice venue for Latin American companies to exhibit and indeed we’re seeing the number of Latin American buyers increase dramatically too. The diversity of quality international exhibitors continues to expand, many of whom are new to exhibiting in the USA.” Andean Designs of Argentina offers a fine selection of hand-woven tapestries, rugs and throws made of hand-dyed and hand-spun sheep and llama wool. The preservation of traditional techniques transmitted through several generations is evident and local craftsmen are allowed to continue their traditional way of life by reaching out to different corners of the world through exhibitions such as Las Vegas Market. This is the second time that a group of Brazilian companies has exhibited at Las Vegas Market and such was their success in July that they have expanded their space for January 2007 by 50%. Products on show will range from living and dining case goods, to leather upholstery and beds from well established companies like Sier Moveis, Industria de Peles Minuano, Americanflex and Moveis German. The COFOCE stand represents companies within the Guanajuato region of Mexico. Consisting of five different exhibiting companies, each with 200 sq ft of space. Real de Mexico produces lighting and wooden furniture, Talavera Castillo produces hand crafted ceramics for both home decoration and the kitchen market, Alfareria Tradicional and San Phillips Pottery de Mexico specialize in colorful decorative accessories and pottery and Hierro San Miguel will be displaying some beautiful iron furniture. Victor Manuel Gonzalez explains “COFOCE is the Guanajuato World Trade Commission and is made up of a prestigious group of exporters led by the State Governor, its role is to promote the state’s products and services in the international market place and we are very excited to be showing at Las Vegas.“ Japan’s exhibit comes under the title Fuchu Furniture Brands – three manufacturers based in Fuchu City are bringing their products to the United States for the first time. They will be exhibiting bedroom and living dining room products which utilize the clean sleek lines we’ve come to expect from Japanese designers. Matsuso Co’s ranges include a modern sycamore dining range finished in glossy black lacquer and a unique china cabinet in natural sycamore which incorporates white pearl oyster shells embellishing the door frame. Sasaki Mokko Co will present a collection of simple modern bedroom products using Japanese Oak and awagami which blends traditional Japanese design with modern touches. Matsuoka Kagu Seizo Co harmonizes the koshi (grid) design with paulownia wood and metal accents for their Waku bedroom furniture. Each company will leave the visitor with a special taste of Japanese furniture design. Motohide Tanaka of the Fuchu Chamber of Commerce says: “Three musketeers from Fuchu Furniture Manufacturers will be introducing the traditional spirit of Japanese craftsmanship combined with contemporary western lifestyle design.” Adding to the excitement on Tuesday, January 30, Cashman Center will be the venue for Carnival ~ Las Vegas Style, a carnival party in true Latin American style. Attendees won’t want to miss the infectious rhythm and contagious beats of the Samba and authentic Latin cuisine from the sizzling South American country of Brazil as Cashman Center is magically transformed in to the streets of Rio de Janeiro. Carnival wouldn't be complete without costumed dancers, beads and hurricane cocktails with entertainment. World Market Center is an integrated home and hospitality contract furnishings showroom and convention complex in Las Vegas. When fully built, at 12 million square feet in 8 buildings, World Market Center will be the largest trade show complex in the World. The 12 million square foot campus will be complete by 2013 and will showcase furniture, decorative accessories, lighting, area rugs, home textile and related segments, as well as Las Vegas Design Center (LVDC) open year-round to the trade. The second building will open in January 2007; officials are now leasing the third building to a broad cross-section of the home furnishings industry.
