As all eyes fall on Las Vegas this month for the opening of the World Market Center Building B, Abbyson Corporation announced that it has its sights set on an even bigger venture: a 15,000 square foot showroom in the entrance of Building C. “Signing for 15,000 square feet is a tremendous step up for us,” said Yavar Rafieha, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Abbyson. “The signing of this lease is a strong indication of Abbyson’s rapid growth in the home furnishings industry throughout the past five years. This was an important space for the World Market Center management to lease because it has such high visibility. We are honored and glad that we have been given the opportunity to take Abbyson to the next level with this space.” The Los Angeles-based company, which designs and manufactures hand-knotted Tibetan rugs and furniture, has high ambitions for the showroom. “We are very excited about Abbyson making this transition to Building C as they are poised to deliver a one-of-a-kind showroom to visiting designers and retailers,” said Dana Pretner, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the World Market Center. Abbyson plans to create this unique showroom by bringing on a team of talented industry professionals. “We are hiring some of the best architects and designers to work on this project,” said Rafieha. “The goal is to create the most welcoming, innovative, and advanced showroom in terms of product display, technology, and hospitality. Since we are in the atrium of Building C, we are setting high standards. Our goal is to set the bar high for the other showrooms, and we are strongly committed to this goal.” Building C will make an impressive addition to the World Market Center’s already distinguished empire. “Building C is going to be the largest, most diversified permanent showroom building on World Market Center's campus,” said Pretner. “Our year-round Las Vegas Design Center will expand significantly in the third building with top home furnishings companies and new showrooms on four floors.” Already a strong presence in the Buidling A Design Center, Abbyson has enjoyed a very successful history with the World Market Center. The company was one of the first to sign on to Building A, where they have a prime location in showroom 133 off the first floor atrium. “We are dedicated to Las Vegas because of the support from the staff and management at the World Market Center,” said Rafieha. “From day one they have been incredibly encouraging and helped us in every way possible, from marketing to leasing and much more.” Abbyson’s success in Las Vegas may be partly due to the ideals that the two companies share. “Like World Market Center, Abbyson is a progressive and fast growing company that continues to expand its range of product offerings and we believe will be a destination at World Market Center,” said Pretner. Included in Abbyson’s Building C planning team is Michealena Perry, the showroom manager for Abbyson’s Building A showroom. “This showroom will allow us to show all of what Abbyson can do for our clients,” said Perry. “We will be able to fill all of their needs by displaying many different and cutting-edge styles, along with multiple finishes and fabric choices. In one stop, customers can shop for everything they need, from floor coverings to accessories and furniture.” The Building C showroom will allow Abbyson to show its entire line of home furnishings products for the first time in one location. In addition to rugs and furniture, Abbyson also plans to expand into new product categories including bedding and kitchen accessories by the time the new showroom opens in 2008. “Our goal is to become a complete home furnishings provider for designers and resellers,” said Sarah Rahall, Director of Marketing and Sales. “We are constantly thinking out of the box and giving our customers the tools they need, from new technology and marketing materials to the best products in the market.” This expansion is the latest in a long line for Abbyson. The company started as a home furnishings importer in the mid 1990s and has since grown into a premier manufacturer of hand-knotted Tibetan rugs and furniture. In the past year alone they have doubled their sales force; introduced many new product collections; put out hospitality, rug and furniture catalogs; and reorganized their expansive Los Angeles distribution center. “Abbyson continues to grow because of the will, dedication, and passion of our team members,” said Rafieha. “Without all of the Abbyson staff we could never have come this far.” In 2007 Abbyson launched a new ad campaign titled “The Next Generation” to mirror their growth and ambitions. “The Building C showroom is such an amazing accomplishment for our company, and it further proves that we are indeed the next generation of this industry,” said Rahall. “While some of our competitors continue to service their customers the same way they have for years, we are constantly improving and finding new ways to reach and help our customers. We want everyone to know that we are ambitious and forward-thinking, and that there are no limits to where we can go.” The opening of Building C will mean great growth for both the World Market Center and Abbyson Corporation. “In 2008, Abbyson will continue to take the home furnishings industry to new heights with this showroom,” said Rafieha. “We will push the industry to levels never even imagined.” For more information on Abbyson Corporation, visit www.Abbyson.com or visit World Market Center, Building A, showroom 133.
