Morris Furniture Co., Inc. of Fairborn, OH, a Top 100 Furniture Retailer, announced the opening of a new Ashley Furniture HomeStore in Springfield, Ohio. The 30,000 square foot furniture showroom will be located in the growing Bechtle Ave. shopping district near the new Kohl’s department store.
Larry Klaben, President/CEO of Morris Furniture Co., Inc. says, “We are excited to be opening a new store in Clark County. As a Springfield native, I continuously get asked when we will be opening a full service furniture store in Springfield. The time is right for our company to expand into the Springfield market. There has not been a major furniture retailer enter the area since Roberds closed its Springfield store in 2000 and Value City Furniture left the market.”
Klaben continues, “Our Ashley Furniture HomeStore will be the area’s most exciting retail furniture store. The showroom will display furniture as if it were in your own home with fireplaces, accessories and even a kids play area. We currently operate 5 other Ashley Furniture HomeStores in Dayton, Beavercreek, Cincinnati, Columbus Ohio and Northern Kentucky. The showroom look and ease of shopping gets better and better with each store we open. Ashley’s slogan, You’re gonna love this place! resonates with shoppers throughout the showroom.”
Klaben is no stranger to retailing in Springfield. His parents Edward and Irene Klaben, and brother Robert grew Click Camera Shops, Inc into a multi-store chain until it was sold last year. He worked in the family camera store while in high school and college. Klaben says, “It is exciting to be opening our newest store in Springfield’s most vibrant shopping area. New stores like Kohls and Bath & Body Works give area shoppers new reasons to shop locally instead of taking shopping dollars outside the marketplace.”
George Hartley, Morris Furniture Co., Inc. COO says, “Ashley Furniture HomeStore will be professionally designed to highlight the newest trends, styles and fashions for the home. The showroom takes the guesswork out of furniture buying, eliminating costly mistakes. Not only is this furniture beautiful, it costs much less than you think.”
According to Hartley, the store will be located at 1690 N. Bechtle Avenue in Springfield and will employee 20 people. For hiring information, contact the Morris Furniture Co., Inc Human Resources Department, 2377 Commerce Center Blvd., Fairborn, OH 45324.
