American Leather Participates In Historical Morelli Designer House Project

Dallas-based AMERICAN LEATHER, a custom design leader and manufacturer of premium leather furniture, announced its participation in the much acclaimed Vladimir Kagan design project – the Morelli house, in Las Vegas. Opening to the public on April 9, 2007, world renowned furniture designer Vladimir Kagan has redesigned the living room and other family areas of the home with select pieces from his designer collections. For this project, American Leather has donated several best-selling furniture designs to tap into the growing furniture market in Las Vegas. Specifically, American Leather's donations included two Zoe sofas, a Vladimir Kagan redesign exclusively for au, American Leather's upholstery subsidiary. The Zoe is a revival of Kagan's classic organic-shaped sofa, with a modern twist. The sofa is scaled down to fit inside a city-sized apartment. It is covered in a durable micro-fiber that offers consumers a high-end fashion design with a fabric for active lifestyles. These sofas are shown in SuedeLife Ruby, and are located in the main living room of the Morelli house. For accent design, American Leather has provided three Spyro ottomans. These cylindrical ottomans are petite and stylish offering multi-functioning furniture for the project. The Spyros can be used together as a coffee table or separately for extra seating. Covered in Fifth Avenue Rouge leather with Carnival Onyx leather on the welting detail, the Spyro ottomans are also in the living area. "The Morelli house is a special project providing a resource for interior designers and consumers alike," said Matthew Hayward, vice president of marketing for American Leather. "The company also sees this project as an opportunity to tap into the Las Vegas furniture Market which is a growing region in the home furnishings sector. With the extraordinary designs from Vladimir Kagan that have fashioned a following since the 1950s, we felt some of his best-selling designs for American Leather and au should be recognized in a project of this caliber." The Morelli house will receive a designation from the City of Las Vegas on the public opening date from the Nevada State Register of Historic Places. Alan Hess will provide an interpretive study on the historical house which will result in a published book and stand alone web site.
