Design professionals and furniture & gift retailers will find more innovative lines at the San Francisco Mart during next week’s Winter Home Furnishings Show, February 17-20. The show is being held once again in cooperation with the SF International Gift Fair at Moscone Center. Nationally recognized home décor, gift and decorative accessory leader Pacific Rim has opened a 6,500 square foot showroom on the premier first floor at the San Francisco Mart. The showroom, in space 105, features the full product line, including their extensive Christmas collections. The Seattle-based company offers a wide range of everyday lifestyle and holiday accents to complement every room and every décor, indoors and out, throughout the year. A new amenity exclusive to the SF Mart showroom is Charisma, a program that enables designers to purchase a selection of Pacific Rim’s home décor items, silk floral arrangements and furniture without having to purchase in multiples or wait for shipment. The Charisma staff is trained to assist with design ideas and custom floral arrangements. Transitional Designs is also a newcomer to the SF Mart. This multi-line showroom in space 133 features outstanding national furniture and accessory lines, including AICO, Barrows, Butler Specialty, Chelsea House, Heather Brooke, J.D. Young & Sons, Kasmir Fabrics, Maitland-Smith, Merrimac Textiles, Pulaski, Robert Allen and Transitional Designs Upholstery. Decima Island Design is new in showroom 578. Decima imports home accents and occasional furniture with Indonesian and Asian character. Existing showrooms are also bringing in new lines. Long-time tenant Kessler has just completed a remodel of their showroom in space 190. Gail Belz, showroom manager, has added three new lines – DalMarko Designs, Global Accents and Padma’s Plantation. Direct Designs Home, a fabulous contemporary resource on the Mart’ fifth floor, has brought in five new modern lines – DIA, Howard Elliot, Oggeti, Robert Abbey Lighting and Surya. JNA Trading in showroom 239 has added Zuo Modern. All of these showrooms are open throughout the year, providing retail buyers and design professionals access year-round. Augmenting these permanent additions are unique new products in the Design Collection, a showcase of temporary exhibitors in the first floor lobby. Design Collection exhibitors are Art Talks, Back to the Picture, Bradley Brand Furniture, Goldwood Furniture, Kaaya Home, Lizz Greer Artisan Textiles, Micaela Gallery, Nouveau Accents, Super Troupe Kini Kini du Benin and The Ugly American. Attendees can also attend five outstanding educational seminars: Managing the Collision of the Generations and 15 Things You Can Do Now That Will Pay Off Big Later, both presented by Barbara Wold; Make it Big Through the Media and Build Your Business on a Budget, both presented by Laurel Tielis; and a very pertinent panel discussion, Reaching Gay Consumers, moderated by Gay.com and sponsored by PlanetOut.com.
