Purnell Furniture Services Opens New Cross-Dock Facility

"At 30,650 square feet, our new cross-dock offers furniture retailers and manufacturers the most modern features available anywhere today," Purnell said. "Among these, the facility includes five in-bound receiving doors and ten out-bound shipping doors to ensure easy access and exit, as well as swift, damage-free handling at all times." Additionally, the new facility houses a complete "deluxing" shop with extensive refurbishing and furniture prepping capabilities. This dedicated shop space is staffed by highly experienced cabinetmakers, upholsterers and polishers, "who take great pride in attention to detail and in doing it right the first time," Purnell describes. "All beds, china cabinets, dining tables and entertainment units, for example, are carefully pre-assembled here prior to delivery. This allows us to check fit, finish and hardware, and to ensure that what the customer receives is exactly what the retailer or manufacturer intended. That’s why we refer to our home delivery and set-up services as white glove."
