Haverty Furniture Reports Sales For May

Havertys' May sales increased 3.0% to $60.4 million compared with $58.6 million in sales for May 2002. On a comparable-store basis, May sales decreased 2.4%. Comparable-store sales do not include locations opened, closed or otherwise non-comparable during the last 12 months. Sales for the first five months of 2003 increased 0.4% to $286.9 million compared with $285.7 million in 2002. On a comparable-store basis, sales decreased 5.4% for the first five months.
