John Corgliano, who worked side by side with his brother Joseph Cory, the founder of CORY Home Delivery Service, to help build the business, passed away recently at 84. During a career that spanned six decades with CORY, “Uncle John,” as he was affectionately known by everybody at the company, helped build CORY into the most prominent furniture warehouse and home delivery service in the country. “In his many years at CORY until he retired in 1990, John Corgliano was a hands-on man known for wearing a suit and fedora — who was equally at home working in the office, on the docks, and in the warehouse,” says CEO Joseph Cory, Sr. “The first one at the docks in the morning, he would roll up his sleeves to work long hours with drivers and then proceed to the administrative side of the business. John was noted for his gentlemanly style and grace, whether he was inside or helping with loading trucks on the docks. He enjoyed his work and was held in high esteem by everyone he worked with.” John Corgliano is survived by his wife, Mary, sons John, Jr., David, Mark, Joseph, and daughter, Michele.
