The High Point Market Authority has again secured sub-blocks of rooms at discounted rates for Fall Market 2007, October 1 through 7.
Thirty-six hotels in the Piedmont Triad region, all with easy access to the High Point Market, are participating in the program. Market attendees can book the rooms, many at substantial savings, through the High Point Market website via the following link: www.highpointmarket.org/hotels. Some restrictions and minimum-night stays apply, and discounted rates will be available until August 31st.
“We expect these discounted hotel rooms to book very quickly and encourage all attendees to book their hotel rooms early to ensure the best availability,” says Brian D. Casey, president and chief executive of the High Point Market Authority.
“The majority of the hotels participating in the program are located in Greensboro and Winston-Salem,” points out Tammy Covington Nagem, vice president of operations, “and while that may sound like a long way away from Market to people unfamiliar with the Triad, the fact is that both Cities are great options for accommodations when visiting the High Point Market. For one thing, our free, comprehensive transportation system serves all of these properties and you’ll save considerably on parking and rental car fees. For another, there are plenty of dining options at area restaurants which tend to be less crowded in the adjoining Cities.”
Says Casey, “We understand that accommodations here have long been a pressure point for our attendees, and with the cooperation of the Hotel Task Force, we are moving in the right direction. The hotels that are participating in this program are beginning to support our efforts to provide affordable accommodations for our Market guests.
“That said, the problem is complex and remains one of our more difficult, high-priority issues,” Casey sums. “The situation will continue to improve as more new hotels come on line and we expect four new properties to open in time for Fall Market. Certainly, we will keep Market attendees apprised as those rooms become available. In the meantime, we urge everyone to visit the website, or contact our housing specialist, Dawn Smith at (800) 874-6492 or (336) 869-1000 ext. 231 for assistance.”
