Kathy Ireland Home® by Martin (KIHBM) made an in-kind donation worth nearly $14,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County, San Diego. The donated furniture helped furnish the new Conrad Prebys Boys & Girls Clubhouse in Santee, California. “The Boys & Girls Club organization is in my opinion a very worthy cause because it nurtures our youth and inspires them to be great,” said KIHBM President, Gil Martin. “Every child should have the opportunity to grow and the Boys and Girls Clubs help provide that opportunity. Kathy Ireland Home by Martin is happy to do everything in its power to help support future generations.” On June 21, 2007 the doors to the Conrad Prebys Clubhouse opened and a VIP reception was held for companies and individuals whose donations helped support the creation of the 23,000 square foot facility. Assistant Brand Manager, Vanessa Martinez attended the reception on behalf of KIHBM where she met with Jerry Fazio, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of East County. Other guests in attendance included city and government officials, parents and the children who will benefit the clubhouse and the Boys & Girls Clubs organization. In 1981 Gil Martin founded Martin Furniture, a premier producer of home office and home entertainment furniture. Twenty-two years later, in April 2003, Martin Furniture partnered with Kathy Ireland World Wide and became Kathy Ireland Home by Martin. In 2006 the company grossed nearly $70 million in sales. KIHBM products are sold through several retail channels all over the country including warehouse clubs, commercial office, catalogs, Top 100 Retailers and specialty stores.
