Woolrich Inc. has teamed with Shady Lady to produce a licensed collection of lighting and decorative accessories for the new Woolrich Home Furnishings Division, set to debut at the October International Home Furnishings Market.
Woolrich, which has been producing apparel and other products for outdoor enthusiasts since 1830, is collaborating with established home furnishings companies to produce licensed lines of case goods, upholstery, lighting, rugs, decorative accessories, tabletop, table linens, outdoor furniture and other products for the home.
“We are extremely pleased to join with Shady Lady to create a collection of lighting and decorative accessories inspired by the outdoors for the indoors,” stated Dennis Marxen, Woolrich vice president of international and home licensing. “Shady Lady embodies a level of craftsmanship that is unmatched in the industry today.”
Shady Lady, located in a converted woolen mill on the banks of the Milwaukee River in Grafton, Wisconsin, has been producing handcrafted lamps and shades for nearly 20 years. Inspired by vintage memorabilia, flea market finds and regional styling, Shady Lady has become known for its distinctive designs.
“Shady Lady is very proud to team up with Woolrich and their new venture in home décor,” says Susan Morter, president of Shady Lady Lighting. “Woolrich is a brand steeped in rich history and timeless style. It is a brand that America has come to love.”
Indeed, from soldiers’ blankets during the Civil War to vests for railroad workers in 1870, Woolrich has developed products for a wide range of occasions and occupations. Today, the company has licensed brand partners that produce and distribute Woolrich products worldwide.
The new Woolrich by Shady Lady collection will include a full line of lighting and accessories including table and floor lamps, chandeliers, candle holders, mirrors, bookends, wall sconces and quilt racks. “The pieces will combine a variety of materials including iron, ceramics, leather and textiles to achieve the authentic outdoor look that is Woolrich,” Morter says.
Shady Lady is among several brand partners collaborating with the new Woolrich Home Furnishings Division. In May, Woolrich announced that Lexington Home Brands is the licensee for case goods and upholstery. Woolrich will announce other brand partners in the months ahead.
