Ekornes Announces Move - Doubles Size Of US Operation

Kevin McGuinness, President of Ekornes USA announced that the company’s U.S. headquarters in Somerset, New Jersey have officially relocated from their former 50,000 square foot building to a 100,000 square foot building in the same general area of Somerset, New Jersey. The change in location will double the distribution space and allow for expanded customer service offices as well as boosting the showroom size to house the complete EkornesÆ product family. Two aspects of the U.S. operation will significantly benefit from the move: A standardized EkornesÆ School will be set up to provide training for staff and dealers and 3,000 square feet of space will be dedicated to an on-site EkornesÆ Concept Store. The first EkornesÆ Concept Store opened in 2001 in Port Charlotte, Fla. Its great success has since led to two other concept stores and inquiries from several dealers to do the same. Says McGuinness, “we have been anticipating and planning this move for quite some time and are excited about the ideas that this increased space will allow us to bring to fruition.
