Acme Furniture Expands at SF Mart

Privately held Acme Furniture of Los Angeles is expanding their presence in San Francisco for Summer Market, January 18-21. The Industry, Calif., based company is moving to space 1062 in Mart 1 and doubling their square footage to 5,382 square feet. The lease runs through 2004 Marvin Ruben, Acme vice president, says that since they opened their Mart showroom in 2000, "San Franicsco has been a very important and very productive show for us." Ruben says that they see all the important California retailers, as well as some major national accounts. "We're expanding because we want to maximize our time with people," Ruben says. "Once they're in our showroom, we want to be able to show them as much as possible." Acme is a promotionally priced importer of bedroom, dining room, occasional tables and leather sets. The company recently opened a new 400,000 square foot warehouse in Industry, Calif.
