High Point Showrooms To Be Open To Interior Designers During Showtime Event

Interior designers have another reason to come to Showtime, where members of the International Textile Market Association (ITMA) present their latest fabric, trim and other decorative coverings for the home furnishings industry. The semiannual event, sponsored by the ITMA, will be held Sunday, Dec. 2, through Wednesday, Dec. 5, in High Point. Through an arrangement with the High Point Design Center (HPDC), dozens of furniture and accessory showrooms in High Point will be open and staffed for an extra day in December to accommodate Showtime guests. The showrooms will be open as usual for first Wednesday Designer Day, but will remain open on Thursday, Dec. 6. “Our mission is to make Showtime an incomparable value as a business venue for our members and their customers, so we are fortunate to hold the event within close proximity of many wholesale furniture showrooms,” said ITMA Director Catherine Morsell. “With cooperation of the High Point Design Center, our guests from the interior design trade can explore those showrooms and take full advantage of their trip to High Point.” Jeanne Glenn, executive director of the High Point Design Center, oversees events and activities for the organization of designer-friendly showrooms.  She says that designers who visit both Showtime and HPDC’s member showrooms “can get everything they need and expect from a first-class design center.”     A list of the furniture showrooms will be available at the Showtime registration area in the Suites at Market Square. Founded in 1990, the ITMA is a non-profit trade association that produces Showtime, the largest textile market in the United States, in December and June.
