GERS Retail Systems, a leading provider of business solutions for the retail industry, has announced the dates and location for Retail World 2003, its 21st annual user conference. This year’s event will return to the Westin Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego, August 11-14. All sessions, workshops, and seminars will tie into the theme, “Framework for the Future,” with a special emphasis on how customers can leverage GERS’ new service-oriented architecture for retail systems technology, enabling a dynamic retail enterprise that can respond quickly and efficiently to changing business conditions. Registration for the event, including general information, session descriptions, and a conference agenda, is now available online at http://www2.gers.com/conf_rw/index.html.
“Each year, we solicit input from our customers to ensure that we’re delivering the content and networking opportunities that will deliver value and make participation in our conference essential,” said Phil Kenney, Vice President of Marketing for GERS Retail Systems. “This year, we’re returning to downtown San Diego with sessions that dive deeper into the topics affecting our customers, and explore strategies for helping them to better manage their business today. We’ll also introduce our new Retail Application Framework, which will lead the way to higher overall performance now and in the years to come.”
In addition to the returning “Users’ Choice” sessions, industry updates, and roundtable discussions, GERS will update its popular “Retail Experience,” enabling customers to go behind the scenes to see how GERS solutions effectively manage the Retail Life Cycle. The Retail Experience will also feature Product Theaters, providing customers with first-hand introductions to new product offerings from GERS and its strategic partners. During the Lunch and Learn session, retailers will network with their peers and discuss specific challenges they face, what their customers are demanding from them, and how they are overcoming those challenges to exceed their customers' expectations. The event will conclude with a half day of educational mini labs. Conducted by knowledgeable retail and technical professionals, the mini-labs offer practical, hands-on instruction related to the technology, business issues, and solutions that impact a retailer’s daily operations.
Details on the keynote speakers and special events are to be announced.
