Mattress Firm Makes Changes To Executive Team

Mattress Firm, one of the nation’s leading specialty mattress retailers, announced several changes to the company’s executive team. Karrie Forbes has been promoted to Vice President of Marketing, Dave Brummett has been named to the new role of Vice President of Merchandising and Brian Wilson rejoins the company as Sales Vice President of Emerging Markets “Mattress Firm is in an accelerated growth stage and as we continue to open new stores and expand into new markets, strong leadership is a critical component of our success, said Steve Stagner, Mattress Firm’s president and chief operating officer. “Each of these individuals brings a wealth of experience to their new positions and will strengthen our leadership team, allowing Mattress Firm to remain focused on growth without compromising operational excellence and our commitment to provide customers with an exceptional shopping experience.” As Vice President of Marketing, Forbes will oversee the planning and execution of Mattress Firm’s marketing and advertising program with a specific focus on the creative aspects of promotional planning. Additionally, Forbes will be responsible for the continued development of business results reporting. Forbes previously served as Mattress Firm’s director of merchandising for the past three years. She also served in a variety of leadership roles in sales, merchandising and marketing during six years working with Elite, prior to Mattress Firm’s acquisition of the company in 2005. As Vice President of Merchandising, Brummett will be responsible for supervising the planning and execution of the company’s merchandising efforts, while continuing to foster strong vendor relationships. Brummett brings more than 15 years of highly relevant retail and wholesale experience within the bedding/furniture category to this position. Prior to joining Mattress Firm earlier this year, Brummett held leadership positions with Mattress Giant, Sears and Simmons. Wilson began his career with Mattress Firm more than 14 years ago, serving in a variety of roles before leaving the company in 2003 to co-found MattressPro. With Mattress Firm’s recent acquisition of MattressPro, Wilson rejoins the company as Sales Vice President of Emerging Markets, responsible for managing the company’s entry into new markets and coordinating the activities related to the process of expanding the company’s reach into new territories.
